a’Mare at Crown Sydney
a’Mare at Crown Sydney is an Italian restaurant by Alessandro Pavoni. This restaurant is designed by Italian designer Michela Curetti Interior Design. Michela wanted to be transversal in her design with a’Mare, combining contemporary, classic and vintage elements respecting the nature and Alessandro’s ideas for the restaurant.
The product used for this project is a custom made product. Each piece is an hexagonal piece individually cut to size to create this pattern. 14mm European Oak with an oil finish.

The interior designer worked together with Style Timber to help choose a colour tone that would create a powerful statement but balances against the design features and the outside environment. It was important that the finish was matte and not too shiny, creating a calming textural experience. A high level of technology went into producing the staircase. The final finish makes it a principal part of the house and creates a distinctive architectural statement dependant on the angle viewed.
