Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between different types of flooring?

1. Hardwood: Hardwood flooring is durable and can add a touch of sophistication to a commercial space. It’s also relatively easy to maintain, as long as you keep up with regular cleaning and maintenance.

2. Engineered wood: Engineered wood flooring is made up of multiple layers of wood, making it more stable and less prone to warping than traditional hardwood flooring. It’s also a relatively low-maintenance option.

3. Vinyl: Vinyl flooring is a cost-effective and durable option for commercial spaces. It’s also easy to clean and comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns.

4. Laminate: Laminate flooring is another cost-effective option that can mimic the look of hardwood flooring. It’s relatively easy to clean and maintain, although it may not hold up as well to heavy foot traffic as some of the other options on this list.

What we need to consider when choose timber flooring for commercial project?

1. Durability: Commercial spaces tend to see higher foot traffic than residential spaces, so you’ll want to choose a flooring option that can hold up to that kind of wear and tear.

2. Maintenance: You’ll want to choose a flooring option that is easy to clean and maintain, as commercial spaces often require more frequent cleaning than residential spaces.

3. Aesthetics: You’ll want to choose a flooring option that looks good and fits the overall aesthetic of your commercial space.

Is engineered timber floor suitable for kitchen areas?

Yes, engineered timber flooring can be a great choice for kitchen areas. Engineered timber flooring is made up of layers of real wood, making it more stable and less prone to warping than traditional hardwood flooring. This stability is important in a kitchen area where there may be exposure to moisture from spills or from cleaning.

Engineered timber flooring also has a protective layer on top that helps to resist scratches and stains, making it a durable option for high-traffic areas like kitchens.

When it comes to choosing an engineered timber flooring for your kitchen, it’s important to look for a product with a high-quality protective layer. You’ll also want to make sure that the product you choose is designed for use in areas with moisture, as some engineered timber flooring products may not be suitable for use in kitchens or other high-moisture areas.

Do you have recommended floor cleaning product?

There are few brands on timber floor cleaning products available in the Market, such as LOBA, WOCA, and Bona wood floor cleaner. At Style timber, we supply full range of WOCA cleaning products. Please refer to our O&M document for how to use these products. These are few advice when you choose the cleaning products:

1. Look for a pH-neutral cleaner: A pH-neutral cleaner is generally safe for use on most types of timber flooring. Avoid using acidic or alkaline cleaners, as these can damage the protective layer of your flooring over time.

2. Avoid harsh chemicals: Harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia can damage your timber flooring, so it’s best to avoid using these types of products. Instead, look for a cleaning product that is designed specifically for timber flooring and is gentle on the wood.

3. Test the product in a small area first: Before using any new cleaning product on your timber flooring, test it in a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure that it doesn’t cause any damage or discolouration.

Can you custom the board size and colour? What’s the lead time of it?

Style timber do provide bespoke products, we can make any size or colour as you or your designer’s requirement. Lead time is about 3 months depends on what colour, size and grade of wood veneer. Please contact our sales team for more particular information.

Are all Style timber’s product made from sustainable forest?

We check the manufacturer’s certification and sourcing practices regularly to ensure that the product you’re purchasing is eco-friendly and sustainable. We also working toward with certifier to get our own FSC certificate.

FSC-certified products are sourced from responsibly managed forests that meet strict environmental, social, and economic standards. When purchasing engineered flooring, look for FSC-certified products to ensure that the timber used in the product is from a sustainable source.

Can engineered floor be sanded in the future?
